My first comment is to Dino in response to being the only person in his family with Type 1 Diabetes. With 5 siblings, I'm the only one with type 1 diabetes. Neither mom, nor dad, nor grandparents, nor aunts, nor uncles, nor cousins. I've been on insulin for 37 years. Saw a nutritionologist on Monday July 7 (last week) he was the first to tell me my diabetes was caused by a parasite in my pancreas.

I admit it, I've had a lapse in my involvement in the diabetes community. And my A1c will show that for sure.

For those of you that have been around for a while, you might remember me for my cheeky and positive spin on life as a Type 1 diabetic. I was very active in this diabetic community, as well as other groups. But at some point this year, my interest waned. I became more interested in (dare I say) the normal, non-diabetic life. And, sadly, my control seemed to rock and…
