honestly price alone is enough to make the decision. I guess it's cheaper to do mdi's, but it all depends on your insurance. When i have the insurance i will definitely try it.

the perfect advertisement would be a meter that looks like it could be in a mp3 comercial. I want something slick, edgy, and easy to carry around but i want the screen large enough to tell me my number and heck i want a back light to it (heck if i...

When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves

Living your life and taking control of it is the best revenge (in reference to diabetes)

diabetes is a balancing act emotionally and physically, finding the balance is key to leading a normal life

persistence + application = harmony + balance

I do not have diabeetusdiabetes, i have diabetes, or to be more politically correct the Bret Michael, Jonas Brother, Hallie Berry disease. I got the Oprah disease to!

counting carbs - need to know how many carbs are in your food? http://tracker.diabetes.org/myfoodadvisor.html

Top Ten things I, a diabetic, don't want to hear crap about:
1. What I eat. If I'm eating a 500 carbed blizzard for Dairy Queen, don't say anything. Sometimes relapsing feels good now and then can out weigh feeling bad later.
2. Don't bitch if I don't share food. If i'm being good then I eat all my food, I don't fucking share.
3. If you see me suck the little drop of blood on my finger, after I just pricked myself, don't freak out. It's just blood, plus I've always wanted to be a vampire.
4. If you see me shooting up don't make a big deal about it. Me taking my medicine is no different then you putting your pills out in a row to take.
5. Don't complain about losing weight and being on a diet. I have to be on a diet for the rest of my life, I have to exercise for the rest of my life, I have to juggle my diabetes for the rest of my life and I don't get the perks of losing weight, eating anything I want, and having energy.
6. If I'm being pessimistic then it because I'm low, or it could be I'm low and I like to be vocal about how much "insert whatever is bothering me" sucks.
7. Please don't brag about being drunk. If getting drunk was the norm for our body then wouldn't you think I would be able to do that kind of stuff? Sorry I'm a buzz kill
8. If you think you hear me complain to much about how diabetes suck, then you try it. Can you count your carbs? be controlled by your medicine, not your stomach? Can you handle feeling low or tired when just a second ago you were feeling fine? Shots? bruising? Cold sweats? Hotness? Temporary insanity?the list goes on. (*side note. the only people I talk about diabetes with is my doctor. I keep that world separate, not on purpose, but because nobody really wants to hear it. I may mention my diabetes but nobody ever asks me how I'm handling it all)
9. It's all good and well if you decide to educate yourself about diabetes, but don't think it will always relate to me. Please don't try to educate me on it, because there are still people out there who think eating sugar causes diabetes
10. I CAN HAVE SUGAR. Take that away from me and I just might kill you... I'm not even joking.

haiku story

I wrote a haiku
because i love candy so
high sugars be damned

cocoa bath is good
gummie worms, bears, centipides
in my tummy now

this is just a dream
diabetics dream sometimes
no food is off limits (hahahaha yeah right)

dreaming while low
i yearn double chocolate

Suddenly i wake
no crumbs or evidence here
must find real food now

So hard to keep up
high, low, sugar, stress, tired
my brain will explode

Check inject eat right
the diabetic wonder
Wants cookies right now

why

Why do you think diabetics decide to not take care of themselves or why do you think diabetics decide not to handle their blood sugar?

Being a diabetic is very hard, not acting like a diabetic is hard to, especially on your body

though a persons goal is to keep good control, a person also doesn't want to be tied down

It's really hard to be spontaneous when following a mundane schedule

When we have control of our blood sugar we have control of our diabetes, but we also have to deal with the c… Continue
