Hey there Healther, I just saw your post. Just curious - did you recently change from the brand Synthroid to a generic version? I felt a difference when this happened to me. I went back on the brand name and felt better. Donna

Hey Donna! How have you been doing lately??

Hope this finds you well! In answer to your question, my summer is spent both ways....the working part is studying new material in preparation for the new subject I will be teaching in the new school year....French! The rest of the summer is visiting family, connecting with friends (ie, more visting!), day trips reading and simply taking it easy. Here too the children return to school the day after Labour Day, but at our school (private) has students who are coming into grades 1, and those coming into grade 4star a tad earlier. The come in during the last week of Auguust, when all of the staff are in, in order to attend a couple classes, and to be evaluated with certain material which will determine the student's strength in English subjects such as comprehention, and reading skills...as well as with math....but also for those children who are entering those grades, as these grades are the entry levels to lower and upper elementary ( mine is a Montessori school...classes are in groups of 3 consecutive grades. So grades 1, 2, 3, make up Lower Elementary....while grades 4, 5, 6, are upper elementary).
By the way, I live in the province of Ontario (Kitchener...south western corner of Ontario)... I was born and raised in the province of Quebec....but yes, the day of school entry IS different in Quebec.

Ohhhhh so very true about being cautious and coming prepared. The old addage "Once burned, twice cautious" must have been penned by a diabetic, lol.
Your cat is ADORABLE! I miss mine so much...it's amazing how such a small animal can create such a huge void.
I seem to always be munching on something. There is one teacher at school who, whenever I cross paths with her (hallway, staircase, wherever) I've got something stuffed in my face! All I can do...all she can do is smile.
The days of going someplace...any place empty handed are gone! Take care Donna....and keep in touch, linda.

Wow Donna...I can't believe how similar our "stories" are. Teaching is a second carreer for me as well. My background is in art. Graphic Design and Illustration. Though I still do some illustrative work....Graphic Design, I find, is too competitive and far too stressful. Can't handle stress the way I used to. I too tend to over compensate during school time....my worse fear is to have a low during class time. I carry snacks/quick fixes everywhere I go.
Mine is a Montessori School...and team teaching is of norm.
I have had lows at school, but was able to cover my tail. What's hardest is when we go on school trips with lots of activity...however my schedule will be different in Sep. and I don't see having to partake in overnight camp trips anymore (whew!!). So you're planning a pregnancy!!! That's great, I'm excited for you.

Oh man, Donna....it's one of the hardest things I've ever had to go through. All 4 of us were in the room with Meeko. Of all of us, my son and I, who are soft core animal lovers, were a total mess....my husband and daughter the stoic duo. She fell asleep on her little blankie, surrounded by love. Such a small animal....such a huge void. I keep expecting her to be waiting by my bedroom door in the morning...wondering where her breakfast is. Or to pop up beside me on the sofa for some TLC.
I teach French to grades 1, 2, and 4 (due to scheduling, grade 3 French is taught by someone else)...and also a component of English to grades 4 and 5. You?
