I'm new to the tudiabetes family. I'm a T2 and have been managing with Byetta and diet and excercise. Lately my blood sugars have been up and down with extreme levels and I'm thinking of asking my Endo about a pump. I love to work out, hike, and camp with my son's Boy Scout troop. The hypos have made all of that very difficult and I hate being on a schedule. I lost 35 lbs last year and I have gained 5 of that back. My A1C went from 5.5 in July to 6.3 in November. Pete hit it right on the head with the "The dex is type blind" comment, as he most often is. And also, he is right on with the caution about accuracy, I encourage you to read as many threads as possible from the past to get used to how to do things on the dex, it is great that you are already in touch with a rep, but sometimes they are a bit slighted, of course. I had the hardest time getting used to it, and the alarms going off in the midle of the night, etc. But I did get used to it and learned some of the 'tircks' necessary to maintain some degree of accuracy, and you need to learn to get alon without using Tylenol! (small sacrifice, yes, but a sacrifice just the same). PS: Welcome to TU, and please visti my site and post a comment at http://www.supportersofsurvivors.com. NOthing for sale there, I promise! Just more people looking to help people!

Hello and good day. I was reading your blog on Oh Baby, and thought I might give you a few suggestions. I don't have children, but have friends w/ diabetes that conceived. Before getting pregnant they engaged in yoga, tested bs 5 times/day in order to get bs on target (100-110) for six months, among other things.
