How expired is EXPIRED? re: insulin

The drug companies usually only test the effectiveness of a med out to a certain time, thus guaranteeing the dose until the "expiration date". It is not cost effective to test them further out for ...

What an amazing picture! You just get a sense of her (his?) whole personality from this picture. Here's a picture of my Brittany, Chaos, running across our yard. He is definitely having fun!

I am in the same camp as Robyn. I am more likely to slap you upside the head then punch you. But can't really because I think most of us have been there and done that. The main thing is that you realize it has to stop and you have to go back to do...

Tanya, this has been a problem with me because I love a cup of hot chocolate before bed in the winter. If you like almonds I have found that 8 ozs of almond milk with 1 tbs cocoa and 1 tbs sweetner makes a great low carb/low calorie bedtime treat ...

Michelle, I am tweaking my recipes to make them more healthy. I am just steaming the vegetables, using broth instead of milk in the potatoes, sugar substitute in the pies. I am also making the pumpkin pie in a spring form pan with just a dusting o...

If you do an internet search for cinnamon recipes you will get plenty of them ranging from meats to desserts. You can also go get a bottle of cinnamon capsules from your drugstore. You can use cinnamon on carrots with a little butter, sweet potato...

I haven't tried it on a regular one but the diet just says LO. I would imagine with as much sugar as a regular soda has in it it would read HI. I'll try that the next time my daughters are out with me. I will also ty it sometime on some of the ice...

Now that my blood sugar is under control with my pump I don't consider it a cheat. I eat one if I choose and bolus and my sugar does fine. But I am not a candy craver. That would be my husband the non diabetic. And my little one I have to hide the...

This is great, especially for times when I am by myself and not sure if it is diet or not. I decided I would get an inexpensive sidekick and keep it with me in my purse to use for this.

Okay, I held out until the very end. But, then I went a little crazy. I few (mini) chocolate bars here and there over the first week in November. Halloween night was ok. Two years ago I would have been eating the candy for dinner! But, I can say t...

Sorry I am a nurse in Texas and one of the hospitals I worked at had a contract with the corrections department. We had all kinds of inmates in for all kinds of reasons. The jails have a nurse on site daily, if not a PA or doctor. He did the crime...

I certainly understand. Right now, my focus is getting back into the habit of excercise! I've realized for me how important it is. I have a really hard time controlling my diabetes without it! I hope you find a job soon. I know it's hard out there right now. Please keep in touch and I will do the same!

Hi there! Did you ever find any T2s in Dallas to get together with? I'm in Dallas, but I don't have a car. I'd love to get together and walk or something as long as I can get there on the train.

That seems to be a good plan... I started off with metformin 500 mg and glimiperide 2 mg as well (2 years ago)... Then my doctor tapered it off removing my glimiperide after 10 months. It took me awhile since at first I had to make a journal of everything I eat and do...then bg test. And Im very stubborn when it came to my carb intake.
I pray this works for you =) Have a great weekend Dori!

Hi. I saw your comment on the Target Pharmacy story. I did no tknow there were state boards of pharmacy. I have been having constant trouble with a mailorder pharmacy (Express Scripts) and getting insulin that has gone back and forth on a UPS truck for many days and been delivered at room temperature. They refuse to take it back because I opened the package.
I am going to call the state they ship from and see if they're the right people to send a letter to. It would make me feel better to vent to the proper authorities.
