Hello! How's it going Ed...any questions/suggestions? Take a look at some of the other groups when you get a chance. OK?

I am part of the Welcome Committee and was just checking in on you to make sure you are aware of all that TuDiabetes has to offer. We would love to hear from you so here is a helpful link where you can read about all the things you can do in the community.

Hey Ed, I've had my Dex for almost 2 weeks now and I absolutely love it....I am currently 98. LOL I love being able to do that. : )

My hubby love it too because he really feels like he knows what’s going on with D-wise now. The other morning he knew I was low before I did by checking Dex while I was in the shower. That was great. We caught it BEFORE I tried to eat everything in sight.

As for putting it in my arm...I tried that last night and apparently it doesn’t work for me. I got up this morning, Dex said I was 279 and I was only 109. That a HUGE difference so I knew something was wrong. So I pulled it and stuck another one in my leg which seems to be working very well.

Since you’ve had yours for a year I have to ask…have you been able to get insurance coverage? I’ve currently got my fingers crossed hoping they will approve my supplies without a fight, although I pretty sure it’s not going to work out that way.

I have an extraordinary sense of my own blood sugars, and I have a very strong response to dropping blood sugars, perhaps because of the early 80's when we HAD to guess our own blood sugar! I didn't opt for the sensor. I am going to wait until the CGM is integrated into the infusion set and is a little more accurate =) I believe the interstitial fluid method of bs monitoring may not be around as long as "Betamax" ...maybe I am too optimistic?
