Does anyone know of any MP3 podcasts that are about 5-25mins long about type 1 diabetes? I have found a ton of them but they are mostly type 2. I am trying to put together a playlist for our school…Continue

Inset tubing Question

I got a couple of Inset samples from Animas. I really like that it is all in one package; however, I am really not liking the short tubing... I would like to be able to change colors so I could keep…Continue

Basal Testing

Started this discussion. Last reply by Brunetta Dec 10, 2010. 11 Replies

I have been asked by my endo to do the lovely basal testing again.  I have been pumping for almost 9 years, so I have done it before.  While I don't mind doing it, she wants me to do it on a "typical…Continue

I joined last spring (I think... spring and summer kinda melted together) looking for other diabetics that I could talk/share with.  Things got a little crazy between work (I teach high school math)…Continue

Does anyone know of any MP3 podcasts that are about 5-25mins long about type 1 diabetes? I have found a ton of them but they are mostly type 2. I am trying to put together a playlist for our school system's new BioMedical Allied Health magnet program. They are going to be using them for the 9th grade students to listen to during the physical education class they have to take. :-)

"You can pull it and call Dex for a replacement. I had one that was gushing once and they did that. Additionally, I had one that I tried to make work and I had wacky numbers (like off by 100-200) and they told me to pull it and they would replace it."

Emily replied to Sharon (Sneetch by the Beach)'s discussion 'Pseudoephedrine - decongestant. Has anyone taken this and seen any adverse reactions in Blood Sugar?' in the group Dexcom Users
"It is perfectly fine. It is in the allergy meds that I take daily. My issue when I take it in over the counter stuff is that I usually have a cold which does all sorts of icky things to my numbers anyway ;-)"

Emily replied to Sharon (Sneetch by the Beach)'s discussion 'Higher sugars or insulin resistance the week before your cycle?' in the group Diabetes and Women

Yeah, I know what you mean! I have taught at a community college & worked as a tutor in schools & I just don't understand how a relationship like that gets started. It blows my mind. Being a mentor/friend to kids is a great thing. That's one thing I love about working with children. But, oh boy, the things that are being said at the high school now! Yikes!

If you are hearing the news about a Louisville teacher getting caught half-naked in a car with a student -- that is at Samantha's high school! Oh boy. This year, it's just one thing after another. But we're almost done with make-up work!

Emily,
Your cat looks comfy. My cat friend Miss K looks the same way sometimes. I have been type 1 for 51 years last summer. No complications yet, fingers crossed, and 2 shots a day of mostly 22 hour N Basel with a little R mixed in for fun. I cook 6 days a week for my wife who works and I love to eat. I have pretty well seen it all by now and have been looking after my diabetes by myself since the last time I saw and endo in 1969. Ask anything you want.
