It was last weekend, August 7th, 8th, 9th. We went on Saturday. Maybe it was my mood but I was kind of disappointed. There wasn;t the enthusiasm of passed years.

Hi Erik! Hope you are having a great night, and thanks for the comment...

The best proof for the relationship between carbs and bg is documentation imho. For my first week out of the hospital after I was diagnosed, I went along with the little game and complied with the ADA diet, high carbs and all. I kept written documentation of what I ate - calories and carbs and amounts - and kept written documentation of my postprandial bg readings. At my one week followup, I showed my data to my PCP and asked him to give me a two week trial on "my" diet of low carb/low calorie and high protein. Luckily, he was open-minded about it and let me try it my way. Not long afterwards, I got to reduce my insulin dosage and had better postprandial bg too. In the process, I also gained his support. I get really aggravated at the doctors that are so close minded that they won't even consider empirical data when it's such strong proof. I wish there were some way to convince others that low carb is the way to go, ya know? It's nice to make friends with others who think low carb is the best way to go... I'm behind you cheering you on!

hiya :-)
thanks for the words of wisdom, i don’t get very many about diabetes.
i hate scotland, its always freezing here.
& glasgow hasn’t changed at all or that’s what my mum and dad always say that everything looks the same as it did years ago.
i love snow. its probably because it doesn’t snow a lot here or i haven’t had to shovel it yet.
thanks – megan

Yes, she is my dog Scarlett. She's part lab/terrier, people still mistake her for a puppy. Just the best thing in the world!
