For me, losing weight is about insulin input. If I use less insulin, I've eaten less food, I lose weight. I can lose 15lbs in a month if I'm fairly aggressive about this. However, over time, it tends to come back. When my BMI is on the lower side, I…

As a healthcare practitioner, I find it amazing that people actually believe that the government can ever have more control over a doctor's decisions than an insurance company does. Here's a great example. I work for the military (ie government heal…

That makes a lot of sense actually. I imagine insulin used in aggressive dosing strategies timed around workouts with balanced carb/amino acid intake would do the trick. I'll have to get that book! I bet that's been my problem all along, being so c…

Wecome Erik! Awesome photographs!! So, I see you are a doctor - did you self diagnose yourself?

Glad to see that you are a consumer of "barley sandwiches" (didn't realise there was a forum here for it - I learned something new checking out your homepage ). I have a love for that beverage - but have to be careful because I tend to like the more full bodied ones (Guinness - has vitamins - that's my excuse for drinking it) - except it can add up in carbs/calories - so I have to watch my consumption.
