A strong warning: I have crashed the Omnipod PDM using Parallels VM software on my Macbook, such that I had to reenter all my parameters into the PDM and start a new Pod. I installed the Abbot Copilot software and the Omnipod extension on my Paral...

You could probably give them to your diabetes center so they can be used as demo pods or training pods. Or else I might ask Insulet for a replacement because they are expired. If they can't replace them (it won't hurt trying), then they will proba...

No, it's not correct. I eat snacks after lunch, even right after I've just bolused for lunch. The pod knows your insulin on board and takes that into consideration. How long the insulin lasts for being on board, depends on the setting when you set...

what does 'meter error 1' on the pdm mean?

You can find out why they refused to pay for the system on your statement of benefits you get from your insurance company, usually it comes every time you get supplies, etc. I've heard that BCBS is covering some on a case-by-case basis. Your sales...

That sounds right. Yesterday at 4:30 my PDM said the pod was empty. Well around 1pm I had 32 units of insulin remaining and I needed a 30 unit bolus over 30 minutes. At 1pm my basal rate was 1 u/hr, at 2pm it goes back to 1.8 u/hr. So I should hav...

From my experience, I would say that the PDM is accurate +/- 3 units. I have bolused more than 5 units after the LOW sign has begun showing and I have needed let's say 10 units for a meal and the PDM said I had 12 units left. I ran out during the ...

It flashes that when it reaches below 5 units of insulin.

I have mine set to alarm me when I cross 40 points, at that point the alarm alerts me that I'll need to change it after another 2ish meals. The number indicating how much insulin is left continues until it's at 6 though. As soon at it's at 5 that ...

My PDM alerts me that insulin is low AS SOON as the insulin reaches that level. You will/have set your PDM to alarm you when your insulin level reaches a certain number of units. I set mine to 10 units. Therefore, if you haven't bolused for a whil...

Since the insulin level sensor is in the pod, I'm pretty sure it comes when the PDM gets status from the pod. When you see this, you'd better change ASAP. They probably built in a small margin but it's not likely enough to cover an entire meal's b...

My PDM always flashes "low" once it gets below 5 units of insulin. I have found that after it starts flashing "low" I can usually still dose about 7 units before it starts screaming. It will start yelling at you the moment it thinks it's out of in...

when it is empty it will make an annoying sound until you acknowledge it on the pdm and say change pod now

When the PDM flashes "low" what does that mean? How much is left? Does it alert you right away when it's empty or just when you can get a status?

I mostly use my leg area. I go up and down my outer thigh. I have had it in the front of my leg too, but it's more comfortable on the outer thigh, and insertion is easier. Be careful if you have muscle in your legs because then it won't work. I ha...
