Welcome, Creative Minds!

Express Your Diabetes is an umbrella that combines all diabetes awareness programs developed by Diabetes Hands Foundation, including Drawing Diabetes and Diabetes Supplies Art. This space also serves as a channel for DHF to partner with other groups and individuals raising diabetes awareness though art.

We are now supporting Lee Ann Thill from The Butter Compartment as she has declared the first-ever Diabetes Art Day, September 1, 2010.

Everyone that participates in Diabetes Art Day will be eligible to win a “No-Sugar Added Poetry” book.  All you have to do is create a piece of art that expresses something about diabetes, and post it on your favorite online community. Send and email or link to Lee Ann Thill, so she can count you in. You can always post them on as many places online as you want, the more you post the more awareness we create.

The names of the people who post their art on September 1st will be entered into a drawing to win one of 5 copies of “No-Sugar Added Poetry”.  Get creative, and your artistic creation could earn you the TuDiabetes poetic creation!

Not sure I have a title for this. It's all recycled stuff I had around the house, aside from the coral paint that I purchased. I guess it is how I feel about life w/ D...can look sparkley and nice on the outside and a jumbled, but beautiful mess on the inside.

Diabetes puts the "LIVE" in "ALIVE" for me--I knew from a young age on tomorrow isn't promised to anyone and if that were the case, I had better get to living!

If you would like to participate, between now and September 1st, break out of your linguistic comfort zone, bust out some art materials, and make a piece of artwork – painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, an installation piece, a mixed media something or other, or whatever you can… Continue
