Welcome, Creative Minds!

Express Your Diabetes combines the artistic expression and creativity programs developed by Diabetes Hands Foundation:  Drawing Diabetes, Diabetes Supplies Art and Word In Your Hand. This space also serves as a channel for DHF to partner with other groups and individuals raising diabetes awareness through art.

Share your works of creative visual expression in the "comments" section on this page, and in the programs below, as applicable.  Then, on September 24th, use the pieces you have created to participate in Diabetes Art Day 2012.

The names of the people who post their art on September 24th will be entered into a drawing to win one of 5 copies of “No-Sugar Added Poetry”.  Get creative, inspire each other, and your artistic creation could earn you the TuDiabetes poetic creation!

Word In Your Hand

The premise of the project is simple: take a picture of your hand showing a word (or words) that describe how you feel about diabetes.  See the video

 Diabetes Supplies Art

Art created using diabetes supplies: insulin syringes, insulin pump infusion sets, blood sugar test strips, insulin vials, etc.  See the video

Drawing Diabetes→

A place to come together and celebrate the wonderful lessons the members of our community are sharing with us. A place to share the stories of love, pride, awareness, care, responsibility and hope.  See the video

I'm gambling with death every day!

For a long time, I didn't figure I was going to last much past 40 but, at 44, things look a bit different? Like I'm "winning"?
