My name is Grant Daisley and I am working with a team to coordinate Cyclebetes which will become the biggest relay in the world and take place in each province across Canada. Cyclebetes is the legacy of Team H2V, a team of 5 riders rode from Halifax to Vancouver and by doing so set a Guinness World record, Juvenile Diabetes Awareness across Canada, and $1 million for the JDRF.
It all started with a promise that a father made to his 12 year old daughter. A Vancouver businessman promised his daughter Taylor he would do everything in his power to help find a cure for her juvenile diabetes before her 18th birthday. He had 6 years. That commitment spawned Team H2V.
Built on themes of community, responsibility, leadership and promise; Cyclebetes is broken down into four elements; where all age groups can get involved, become Champions, and (this year) help raise $3 million dollars for the JDRF.
If you would like to get involved I have put together a Cyclebetes group on facebook or you can email me for more information of you would like at cyclebetes2009@live.ca
