Hello everyone out there! I just joined this site, actually, I just found out about the DOC from my new friend and coworker 2 days ago. I think it was fate that he and I met. He has opened my world…Continue

"I haven't used a logbook in many decades. Recently my pump died, it's out of warranty. While waiting on my new pump I switched back to shots. So I needed to track these. I tried Glucoo; (Android) and that worked fairly well, with a…"
"I've not written anything down in years. Bounced between different technology solutions. Up to recent, I used an iPhone app called WaveSense. Right now, using an Omnipod pump and their PDM device does 99% of what I need. And it's so easy…"
"I'm with AR, but loathing is a little meek. I haven't even kept a check register since 1990. I'm stingy with the carbs and rarely eat more than a bite or two of anything that might spike me. Besides having a life long aversion to…"
I have been using my CGM, testing more, remembering to bolus, and downloading to the software... But I just can't get into the habit of writing it all down. Can't that be enough.... Geez!Any Ideas? Why can't ths be enough? Does it really matter exacty what I ate.. I mean, I know it does, but I have a full time job already. Really.See More
"I am quite lucky in the regard, I use the accu chek combo system, my carb total, bolus and basal data, BG values are all logged automatically. Every 90 days I just download the data, look at the reports and email over to my endo."
"Sometimes you can make a game of it, if that helps any. For example, have your co-workers gamble on the number of carbs in your meal or what your next blood sugar reading will be. Even if they're betting nickels, it could be fun. You'll…"
"I write everything down -- what I ate, carb totals, blood sugars, exercise and insulin doses. My endo told me that he's never seen such meticulous record keeping. I also record my weight and A1Cs and upcoming appointments. It's like a…"
"I ***LOATHE*** writing anything down, and only did it once, when I did it for a month. My initial reaction was "I'll just fake it..." but, when I sat down to fake it, it was easier to test and start writing? I cut the corner but…"
So I know this will sound, and like actually will be or is an excuse, but every Monday seems to ring in with a hue bang... Literally I mean a slap in he face from one side or the other. Work, my personal life, diabetes life... Anywhere. I just feel so punched down, so early in the week, I don't know where to start. Aren't weeks supposed to begin on good notes, and then go downhill? I just want to crawl up in a ball and fall asleep. I know this is depression, but what else do you suggest? I dont… Continue
Yesterday was really not a great day for me. Not that today was much more stellar, but a least the folks from Sales were nicer to me today!
So i remembered to test this AM, before I ate lunch, and I bolused or that too, 10 min late... That was about it. I was stressed to get stuff done at the end of the day (here come the excuses, move over reality) so I ate some candy, just 3-4 mini rolls and some yogurt at 5, but a least I remembered to bolts... 20min later!
I think I might have jumped the gun on those goals I wrote yesterday. I am not so sure I can achieve them, all of them, even more than the first one. I know I "failed," YES, I "failed" today, yesterday, whatever day it is now. Can I really do this?
I am an excuse maker. Work is beyond stressful, I am bullied; clients want results I cannot produce; I have no support from management; I am doing 3 jobs at once (mine, parts of another guys job who left over a yer ago, and some of my… Continue

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey, why don't you come join us in the TuD chat room?
You'll see us at the bottom of the home page.
We have a great time getting to know each other, sharing info and lots of laughs :) It's on right now!
I was just reading something yesterday and they suggested not to use the word "testing" as in "testing your blodd sugar" They suggested using another word, like "checking your blood sugar". just because "testing" implies you're getting "graded" and perhaps we don't want to feel like we "failed" if the number isn't "good". (I also believe we should curb our tendencies to think of bg numbers as "good" or "bad") - anyway, it's just using a little psychology on ourselves. thanks for posting with us, you don't even know how many others out there you are helping.
Felidia, congratulations on being featured on TuDiabetes. I think your excellent post hit a real nerve with many of us. Diabetes means we have to keep trying and each time we don't succeed can make it seem like failure. Don't let the darn disease get you down. And do please keep writing.
