Hi Florian,

Well not quite a week in and the Vibe has been great. There was nothing that I disliked about the Paradigm but when I get around to using the CGMS side of things I believe the Dexcom to be superior to the Medtronic option. The CGMS sensors/transmitters are not covered by health insurance or the NDSS(government subsidy) here in Australia to that may be a while off yet.

Going from the 3ml reservoir in the Paradigm to the 2ml Vibe means more frequent 're-fills' and as I buy my NovoRapid in the 3ml penfill cartridges rather than 10ml vials there is an extra re-fill to use up the 1ml left in the cartridge.

Obviously the menus are different but all are straight forward. Other than that it is just small things that could very possibly be just that I am not looking in the right place for something. For example I like the countdown timer on the Paradigm that tells you how much time till your next BG reminder, I haven't found something similar on the Vibe, it may be there it may not but not a big deal.

All in all, with a few changes in the way I have been doing things I am sure that me and my Vibe will have a happy life together.

Cheers
Glen

Florian,

Thanks for your comment.

Normally I wouldn't start a run with a BG at 376, but I was in Maui, paid a lot of money to get there, trained diligently, felt good, so . . . I wasn't ready to back out.

If I'm that high before a training run I'll usually wait until I come down under 200 or skip it altogether. Usually. I have started that high before with mixed results - sometimes dropping and sometimes ending up in DKA.

Many thanks, Florian. I tried looking around for the info before bothering you, but couldn't locate it. Do many people generally go to the meetings? Is there anything I should do in advance? ---Anthony

Hi Florian -

I wanted to thank you again for posting the information regarding the Spring Briefing last night in Needham. My husband Mike and I enjoyed talking to you and meeting the pumpers group. I thought the talk was very interesting and hope to make it an annual meeting that we go to. Thanks again. Talk to you soon.
