I read here on TuD the other day--in the forums, somewhere--that a snack size McFlurry (mix of soft-serve and a mix-in from McDonalds) was only 18gm carb.

Type 2 Diabetes Vacation Tips

Just came back from a week's vacation, which was great fun. Over the past year and a bit I've come to dread vacations a lot less. At first, I was more pissed off about the lack of good eating on vacation than I was happy about going on vacation at all. But now I've come up with some strategies that I can live with and thought I'd share. I'm sure my free advice is worth every penny. :D

I know that diabetes and thyroid problems tend to go together, and I have certainly had my share of the latter. I've been on levoxyl since about 1996, and have been pretty much in range all the time. My GP sent me for the usual A1C (in the 5s, yay) and some other tests, and I came back with a TSH of 8--which I know is outside the acceptable range for thyroid. And no, I'm not super tired or cold, but I have lost a bit of hair in the past year, and it does take me a few extra beats to remember… Continue

I would have posted this as a comment to the blog called "Better Me than Someone Else," but the author of that blog has chosen to moderate comments, as is her prerogative.
