Hi Gail! Keep your head up! 8 is not bad by any means. A lot of Dr's will say a diabetic with and A1C below 7.5 is in great shape. My secret weapon is testing often, probably 5-8 times a day. If you know what Laney's sugars are and how they move with what she eats, how much she is playing and how much insulin she's had you'll be able to keep a smoother blood sugar line. I had an A1C of 12 at one point in college due to not taking care of myself and what I learned is it's a lot easier to go from A1C's 12 to 9 than 8 to 7. Stick to it and feel free to lean on all of your friends here when you need help or have questions! :) P.S. don't freak out at the random high blood sugars we all have them sometimes!
