Gary replied to Bram's discussion 'How do you carry your Dexcom for Workouts!' in the group Dexcom Users
"I have a SpiBelt and clip the leather case that came with my Dex to the strap of the belt. Easy to put Dex in the for runs and easy access when I want to check it. For things like softball, I just put Dex in the SpiBelt. I always where the sensor…"

Gary replied to Sarah K's discussion 'MM and Dexcom Question' in the group Dexcom Users
"I used the MM/Dexcom setup for a while before switching to an Animas pump. I tried the MM CGM for a while and simply hated it - painful and not accurate or reliable for me. I didn't like the idea of having 2 separate systems at first, but the…"

Gary replied to Alicia Dodd's discussion 'Spots for dexcom?!' in the group Dexcom Users
"Upper arm. Back side. You'll need help getting it there. My wife does it for me. Every once in a while, one will hurt there, but usually I completely forget that it's there."

Gary replied to Molly's discussion 'Jacuzzi and sensor?' in the group Dexcom Users
"I swim with my Dex (the sensor) on all the time and it is just fine. I think the only thing you may need to look out for is in hot water like in a hot tub. But even then, I'm not sure if that's a problem."

Gary replied to jeffojeda's discussion 'Me than 7 days??' in the group Dexcom Users
"Simply do a "Stop Sensor" and then "Start Sensor" on the receiver. You'll have to wait 2 hours for it to start up again and enter the start up BGs, but that's it."

Gary replied to Benjamin McLaughlin's discussion 'Tips, Tricks, Advice for new Dexcom out of the box.' in the group Dexcom Users
"Congrats on the DexCom. You will love it... I know I do. 1) If you have someone that can help you with the insertion, I think the back of the upper arm is the best place for the site. I completely forget that it's there. 2) I wear mine until…"

MeganJ replied to Gary's discussion 'Running Packs' in the group Diabetics who run Marathons!
"I definitely don't keep my infusion set in that long either! I mostly use the tegaderm for my CGM sensor. That I aim for 14+ days. I no longer run without my pump. I take it off the clip and put it in my spibelt. If I synch the belt down tight…"

jjh replied to Gary's discussion 'Running Packs' in the group Diabetics who run Marathons!
"Thanks. I hadn't heard of Tegaderm (nor have I ever kept the infursion set in for sooo long - 4 days is tops). Regarding hour 2, that's pretty much my experience (that's when I get to mile 14, more or less). But it's great to…"

Hi, Gary. Were you sitting at the Ragnar Table with Jerry Nairn? If so, I saw you, even though I didn't meet you.

Hope you had a good marathon. Did you get to the post race BBQ?

Hey Gary,
Been reading through more of your posts and links--thanks! This may be a dumb question, but when you talk about your IOB (insulin on board), how do you calculate that? Does your pump tell you, or is it just based on how much you've bolused?
