Gb commented on danmdphd's blog post 'My type one is killing me in more than one way'
"More of the same from me, Dan. It can be a scary, debilitating disease, and it is insidious in how it can rob you of parts of your life if you aren't vigilant. Get up and move and fake it 'til ya make it."

Forgot my A.M. Meds today...

Posted on November 14, 2013 at 11:00pm 3 Comments

And, oh, that is not good. I forget when I'm on holidays sometimes, but a regular workday is definitely not ok. I'm T2, so there are no immediate effects- well not noticeable, but I have to be so very careful about what I eat when I don't have the safety net my Meds provide. It made me grumpy and anxious today.grrrr

Things I’ve Heard that I Wish I Hadn’t

Hair is a sexual extension of one’s self: a psychiatrist told me this once, and ever since I can’t look at people’s hair without thinking about how individuals are choosing to express their sexuality. The psychiatrist told me this after I cut my own hair – lol

Wacky Waldo

Posted on October 5, 2013 at 9:33pm 6 Comments

This is Waldo, my 7 week old Maine Coon kitten – or Wacky Waldo, according Rick. I LOVE him. I got him last weekend and I have been sick this week, so we have done hours of couch time together. This kitten knows no boundaries; he is full of confidence, entitlement, really. Where does he get it? He lulls on my neck, chest, and lap like I am there just for him. He takes on anything to fight: my hand, my hair, a ping pong ball, and with such gusto! Does he not know to be scared? He has fallen…

Holidays – a different sort of challenge

Posted on June 23, 2013 at 12:31pm 0 Comments

That’s right, I am having difficulties being on holidays. I wanted it to be a time to focus on me: work out every day; take the time to make good healthy food; and all that other stuff: catch up with gardening, housework, and doing extra things with my kids. I am having trouble disconnecting with my work, though.

I am not a workaholic, though the word was brought up in my performance review. To me, workaholics are successful business men, rich, hard working – well, really Batman fits…

Welcome to the family!! On this forum you will learn so much. Most of what you will learn is that you are not alone. Everyone here is supportive and will provide answers to your questions. Search the site for answers. Read the discussions and blogs for information. There are videos to help you understand diabetes and its treatment. Most of all there is family to talk to and vent to, if needed.

Hi ,

You may have noticed TuD hanging around the site. It's his 6th birthday this month, and his big international family of people with diabetes is growing. Our 6th birthday fundraising campaign is on! Every dollar you donate allows TuDiabetes to reach 6 people touched by diabetes, giving them the opportunity to not be alone!

Please consider making a donation, as well as asking your friends and family to give what they can. TuD's birthday party will keep getting more guests as we raise more donations (see top of the home page). Let's help keep our family thriving and growing! Please share this message. Thanks!
