"Good work getting your A1c down! Question is what are you eating now & what do you like? Not hard to find lower carb substitutes for many foods. Know you have to be careful after lap band surgery with portion control."

Lap Band

Had weight loss surgery a month ago,lost 27 ponunds. Have not been exercising until today, stopped going after the hurricaine. Gained 3 pounds. Having difficulty in chosing things to eat. Anyone have any ideas ! A1C is now 7.5 down from 9.See More

"Go check out the Symlin group and find blogs on how to use the stuff- the "cut your insulin in half and take before eating' recommendation for symlin is woefully inadequate."

THE WORK I DO IS AT MARY LEE FOUNDATION, I WORK WITH CLIENTS TO REGAIN SOME INDEPENDANCE AFTER A BRAIN INJURY. TEACH THEM TO GROCERY SHOP, HYGEINE, TRANSPORTATION, COOKING, SELF- MEDICATIONS, AND GO HAVE SOME REAL FUN WITH THEM. THEY MAY HAVE A VISIBLE HANDICAPP BUT THEY ARE REAL AND COMPASSIONATE PEOPLE WHO JUST WANTS TO BE NORMAL AGAIN. BUT THEY ARE THE STRONGEST PEOPLE I KNOW. I LOVE MY JOB SO MUCH NO MATTER THE PAY.
