Sugar Free Milk Chocolate vs Sugar Added Milk Chocolate-What do you think

OK...I love chocolate. Dove makes a good sugar free dark chocolate, but its expensive, not easy to find and frankly I prefer milk chocolate. I've tried making my own several times with disappointing results. So I find myself looking at Russell Stover's Sugar Free Fine Chocolate Candy Bar and an Endangered Species brand All Natural Smooth Milk Chocolate Bar. So my question is this...Which one is the better choice (blood sugar speaking). Here are the facts:Russell Stover (partial nutritional…See More

The Downside to Weight Loss

Posted on July 25, 2009 at 8:08am 8 Comments

Warning: If reading about sagging female body parts offends you, do not read this post…just need to vent.

Since my dx in April, I’ve lost about 40 pounds and an additional 20 prior to dx. I am well aware of the benefits (not to mention I look a lot better in my new clothes). The downside is that I don’t look better with my clothes off. When I was fat, I was fat with or without clothes. Now, I look so different with clothes than without clothes it continues to disorientate me.… Continue

Hi Gerriann, Hope all is well with you. You look great in your picture so your 40 pounds off looks great.

Basically it is feeling kinda flu like, weak, nausea etc. If you google atkins flu there is a more in depth description. It lasts a few days. This is after going super low carb. I have been super low carb and the weight is melting off, but I feel kinda weak and crappy and still crave carbs sometimes. Getting my numbers and weight in line first, then I will attack that. Atkins talks about that; getting your goal weight and then working small carbs back into your diet. I am following Dr Bernstein now.

Some of my numbers are still elevated in the morning and after meals though so I am having the C-Peptide done. Take care.
