Feeling Better

Well, today I'm feeling a little better, got started on antibiotic and prednisone yesterday. Yesterday I put on my shoes and socks all by myself for the first time since the hip problem, a big comeback for me. I also made all my own meals and did 2 loads of laundry - and I loved every minute of it, being out of bed is so great!Today I will fold and put away the 2nd load of laundry, attack the dishes that have been stacking up for days and do some hall-walking. I'm also going to find the…See More

Better

Well, I didn't cough so much last night, took some prednisone yesterday and feeling better today. (My pulmonologist gives me a certain leeway with the prednisone, which goes with the COPD territory.) So, I'm tired and cold today but not coughing or feeling lousy like yesterday. Hopefully, it was just the weather change, the next few days will tell.

My sister, brother-in-law and daughter have all started counting carbs with me. They've all been wanting to lose weight and when my sister…

Frustrated and Panting

Thanks to everyone for your support, I appreciate it so much.

My COPD is really acting up today, feeling rotten, coughing much, breathing little. These are the days when I really need that support, as much as I need to go back and re-read my post and others'. I am a little frustrated over the fact that I really haven't lost any weight yet. I had lost about 4 pounds in the first 5 days, but have put it back on, took off 2, then put that back on. I retain water pretty bad and my feet…

To New Beginnings

I recently was laid up in bed for 2 whole months (yes, that's 8 weeks, literally) with what I thought was severe sciatica. It turned out to be some pretty bad hip problems from years of sitting, standing and laying postural-ly incorrect. Now, for years, I've heard all the stuff about good posture, standing straight, etc, etc. Just never practiced it. In fact, I didn't practice much of anything that would lead to good health. I smoked for about 15 years, up to 1.5 packs a day. I really never…
