Why should it matter where I eat?

Started this discussion. Last reply by Pamela1977 Dec 8, 2010. 13 Replies

At least once a week - Tuesdays - I have to work late, and I eat dinner at work.  I have discovered that when I eat at home, a 1:10 insulin:carb ratio works.  But when I eat at work, I need at least…Continue

hemochromatosis

I just got interesting/disturbing news. I've had type 1 for about 10 years. Found out when I was 30 years old. My younger brother came down with it a couple years later. Two weeks ago, I tested my twin brother's bg and we found out he was diabetic. My mom, who is a nurse, had a whole bunch of blood work done, and my twin has 2 copies of a gene associated with hemochromatosis. Hemochromatosis can cause diabetes if untreated.I'm hopeful that this is what caused my brothers' diabetes and that…See More

Hi Grego and welcome. Do you know about the New England group here? It's a good place to learn about meetings of the pumpers group in Woburn, MA. You can also find other members in Massachusetts here.

YES! We have a 2 1/2 year old daughter and 10 month old twin sons. It's crazy! We hadn't really even entertained the idea of twins before planning for baby #2 but it happened! And I'm very proud to say that they are all healthy and happy and I've had type 1 since I was 3. :-) Our Boxers are also rescues. We're pretty sure our male Boxer is part Great Dane. They're both SUPER goofy! ;-) Anyway, welcome to TuD! It's a great community.
