I have a question for anyone who’d like to answer…I know I can’t be the only person with this issue, as I’ve had diabetes for a little over four years and have read here about people who have had it…Continue

Expired Test Strips

I normally rotate all of my supplies. However, I just came across a few boxes of test strips that expired in early 2012... 1 box (100) expired in January, and 3 boxes (50) expired in February. They…Continue

Lantus question!

Greetings all, this is my go to place for all diabetic questions. I just experienced a feeling of horror when I found a box of Lantus pens still in the brown paper cvs bag and not refrigerated. From the date it appears that it was picked up about 3 weeks ago.I did ask a few people & got different responses... But my question is, can I still use it? I would hate not to, and if I can, my first shot would be in the morning.Any information would be appreciated.See More

DBlog Week / Day 3: What Brings Me Down

What brings me down... literally... was waking up on the floor six months ago and wondering how I got there. Well, once I got myself together, I figured out how I got there.

I absolutely hate lows the most. They take so much out of me physically. I miss so much, because I'm so physically wiped from them. The result of a bad low bg episode is a terrible migraine, freezing cold, feeling like I've been hit by a truck or thrown from a… Continue

"Let’s kick off Diabetes Blog Week by talking about the diabetes causes and issues that really get us fired up. Are you passionate about 504 plans and school safety? Do diabetes misconceptions irk you? Do you fight for CGM coverage for Medicare patients, SDP funding, or test strip accuracy? Do you work hard at creating diabetes connections and bringing support? Whether or not you “formally” advocate for any cause, share the issues that are important to you. (Thanks go out to Kim of Texting my… Continue

My 4yr Anniversary!

Posted on August 25, 2012 at 3:00pm 3 Comments

I have been doing a lot of thinking about my life... this is my 4year anniversary with diabetes.

It's kind of hard not to think of the bad times that this has caused.

I think of just in the last few months, how much I've missed.

For instance... in May, I was so looking forward to Topless Jeep Day. Not a real big deal, but I was supposed to take the top off my Wrangler, ride around, and take some pics. But because of low blood sugar (low bg), I spent the day... and the…

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY - Let's Be Wasteful!

Posted on July 4, 2012 at 11:30pm 0 Comments

Last night, after power was restored, I spent the remainder of the evening getting upset. I walked through my house & turned off lights that were left on, & anything electric that wasn't being used. The power had only been restored for not even an hour & it was already being misused & wasted.

I sat outside on my deck in the dark, under the moonlight, which was the only light available for a few days. How easy it is to go back to the same habits as before.

Today…
