- I have had T1D for almost 11 years and fid that having a supportive community is crucial to success at my doctor's visits and in my daily life. I work for the Los Angeles Chapter of JDRF which is responsible for carrying out the foundation’s mission to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. Serving the Greater Los Angeles area, the Central Coast (Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties) and the Central Valley (Kern, Inyo, Tulare, Madera, Kings and Fresno counties), Chapter activities consist of philanthropy, outreach, and advocacy. The local chapter is governed by a Board of Directors responsible for fundraising, oversight of chapter activities, and promotion of national programs. JDRF LA has had an office in Los Angeles for 15 years, raising millions of dollars for diabetes research, surpassing $4M in FY12. Nationally, JDRF has provided over $1.6 billion for type 1 diabetes (T1D) research over the last 40 years. I'm so happy to be a part of the TuDiabetes community and look forward to listening, learning, and being a resource for all of you.

Take a peek at some the groups when you get a chance. Just go to the top of your page, and click on "Groups". Once in,
click on "all groups". You can either peruse the wide array of available groups....or simply type a specific interest in the
space provided.
Take in some of the blogs/discussions as well.
The resource boxes at the top of the home "Home" page, and
"About us" at the very bottom of your page and every page (the footer), offer you more information still.
