Hi Bobby The most important thing is to keep your blood sugars on a good range 100, 120, and no more than 140, after eating. You can do that with multiple shoots or with your pump, if you are in a rush or complicated situation just try to relax c...

Hi Doris,
Its almost the same here with very few exceptions. I started a discusion at http://tudiabetes.com/xn/detail/583967:Topic:205690
to receive feed back from more people and see what we can do. One of the thinks could be negotiate a colective insurance policy with some company that receive all us T1D and our parents (not T1D) then they give us a chance and would be more open as an insurance "bussines" company. I dont know yet because for me its the quality of my life and for the insurance company its just BUSINESS. If we can put togeter 1000 T1D and there relatives probebli the group would be around 3000 to 5000 people and that shoul be enough for a beginning or may be qualify my self as a Dreamer :-)

Hector,

I don't now how the insurance is down there but up here insurace up here even the lovely Medicare covered it for me. Medicade came in and picked up the other 20%. I wish you awhole lot of luck when it comes to the insurance company!!!!! It took a letter of medical nessiaty for me to get it! As for the CGM well Medicare doesn't see that as a medical nessati right now!!!!!!!! Flustrating is all I can say!!!!!!! Yep I tend to take it out on our goverment.........I can't afford it and it makes me very upset that they make the desisions when most all of them are more than healthy with no diabetes at all!!!

Hector,

I use the MiniMed system 722! I can't get into the CGM b/c I don't know where I would put it on this skinny body!!! I don't like the idea of another wire on me either but that's my own perferance! Everybody has their own and that's mine. Another thing is I don't know how I would afford it right now. I'm on medicare with no money left over at the end of the month and yeah. I LOVE my pump! I went on one when I found out I was pg with my 1st daughter went back on it when I found out I was having my 2nd and after a few years of all that then I had a pancres transplant that lasted for a few years after rejusting it I went back on my pump. The drs tried me on the oral meds at first then after a day with my bs going over 700 they put me back on shots which I honestly didn't like and I insisted on my pump!!!! I haven't changed from MM in all those years although I've heard of the other's. It's kinda funny........They came out with the Animalis (sp) and there is a group on yahoo called insulin pumpers and I had to ask what animal was it hooked up too! Dumb well yeah I didn't know that there were anyothers out there. The funny part about all that is it was like 3 years ago! DUHHHHHH
