Is this a Cure???

Posted on September 14, 2009 at 10:31pm 1 Comment

I'm currently participating in a trial of a new drug called BHT-3021. This is a drug designed to tolerize the immune system to proinsulin, thereby turning off the self directed immune attack.

Does this have the potential to be the cure we have been waiting for?…

A recent article in a canadian newspaper has recently published an article covering a case of someone who got killed by their insulin pump.

Is this a real risk or am I just being overly paranoid? Can a pump really kill you?

Thanks Henry! Thought I'd have a look for Melbournians! Yep, definately a good time if any to be diagnosed, and great to have access to the internet for support! How are you coping after almost 2 years? I see you have a blog, great idea for sharing info and getting the frustrations out! Cheers, Kristy

Hi Henry, How are you managing? Do you find you can steer your diabetes in the direction you choose now? Worry about my diabetes control doesn't pursue my life now, my control is so much better... I now trust this gadget helps me. Monitoring my diet is becoming a fine tuned art...makes me realize how complacent I'd become on injections. My niece calls it my 'Ironman thing' and I kinda like that concept. Hope its working for you too! All the best!
