"I am up to Basal of 2 units/hr equivalent now and 1 unit of bolus/5 gs of carbs. I do eat lower carb, particularlyin the mornings when I am most insulin resistant. It really helps in avoiding highs. I generally eat very few grains or starchy veges or…"

"I'm totally with you; I'm willing to deal with the lows in order to avoid the highs. I really don't think the lows are that dangerous for us -- remember, non diabetic pregnant women run in the 50s-60s when they are hungry. (Not…"

"I agree with the others. 1) Bolus early 2) Eat smaller portioned and as a result smaller carbs meals/snacks more frequently to prevent the low that might occur if you aggressively bolus."

Is it really possible to maintain such tight control?!

Hello, all! I'm currently 25 weeks pregnant, and my basal rates are up to 1.0u/hr and my bolus ratio is 1:7 (originally 0.8u/hr and 1:12 pre-pregnancy). My A1c as of last week was 5.4%, up from 5.1% at 20 weeks. My endo told me at the beginning of my pregnancy that my goals are to be <90mg/dL before meals and <120mg/dL two hours after meals. I've been trying my best to adhere to these goals, and of course I'm having a lot of lows because of it. Well, my endo told me last week that he wants…See More

"My work is flexible, and also only 5 minutes from my home. With my last baby I had a few weeks bedrest from week 35 - 37 1/2 and after that worked up until my waters broke (mind you, reduced hours) just 3 days later at 38 weeks on the dot. I was…"

Hi, Holly! Thanks for adding me to your friend list. I hope we can become good friends. I'm 31 and my first dia-versary with type2 is creeping up on me. I want to reach out more instead of all the self-isolating I've been doing. I hope you are well! -Izzy
