Yes, it is frustrating and yes, it does happen. I'm glad that they caught it. Another thing to remember is that meters are less accurate in the high and low range. So I usually interpret anything below 70 as low, but don't change too much based o...

I have been called from the school. It was the nurse. She said that Ali is low, 39. The bad news was not his being low, but not showing any symptoms of hypoglisemia. He was not tired, not nervous, not sweating....everything seemed so normal to his teachers and even to himself.

Nowadays he is getting out of his honeymoon period, I guess. The general shots we give to him are not enough anymore eventhough he eats the same amount of carb. So we recently have increased the shots' unit. For a week, hi… Continue

Thanks so much for trying! I'm surprised it doesn't reach internationally. I'll ask about it.

hello, ibeking, welcome here. I hope Ali's blood sugar is doing good today, I know how hard it is sometimes to make sense of what is going on. I still get puzzled occasionally, and I've had it 42 years.

I love Istanbul, it is such a beautiful city! I have a close friend who's lived there many years, and I attended her wedding there in 1976. They used to live in Bebek, but now have built a house on the Asian side.

Hello,

Thanks for adding me as a friend. I hope that your son Ali is doing well. My son Austin (almost 4) is using an insulin pump (omnipod) and we love it. It has been a year since he was diagnosed as diabetic, and it DOES GET EASIER!

Evet, uzun zaman oldu :) 20 yıldır diyabetliyim. 1 yıldır da pompa kullanıyorum. Küçük çocuklarda diyabetin anne-baba için zor olduğunu biliyorum. Siz Çapa'ya mı gidiyorsunuz? Derbent'teki toplantıda var mıydınız? Ben mi yanlış hatırlıyorum? :))

Hello Ipek,
One quick thing: to leave comments to someone else, make sure to click on the "Comment Back" link below the comment someone leaves you. Otherwise, they won't know that you did it, unless they casually visit your member page.

You should also consider blogging about things you would like to share with the rest of the members.

Here are some general things for you to read, as a part of getting used to the community:

Hi again! They are supposed to last seven days (I believe that is the longest of the three CGMs on the market), but for all the systems I believe that people can "restart" a sensor if it is working well to extend the life. We've had some bumps - the first sensor didn't work the first three nights so we finally changes it - now the receiver completely failed and we are back to finger sticks until we get a new one :(
