The bright side?.........

Sometimes I feel lost and just want to curl up in the fetal position and cry. Sad, yes, I know, but it gets hard sometimes and I don't think I can handle it. I've been a type 2 for 11 years now and…Continue

Laugh to keep from crying

So I haven't been on here in a while, school took up most of my time, had to pull up grades, stress, etc. I haven't been able to check my blood sugar in months!( I know, bad right) I haven't been able to get strips but I know my body well enough to know what going on. Lately I just don't want to eat anything because its been hot(Florida) but I mange to snack on fruit. Weigh loss progress isn't what I hoped but have been slowly working on it. I have a check up in July and I'm just hoping for the…See More

I was diagnosed some time after my 6th birthday and have had some problems dealing with it as I got older. Not so much anymore. I find it hard to be a type 2 diabetic and have friends who don't really understand it. But I'm happy, I'm alive, and I've learned to manage it! Smiling everyday because I wake up!

Welcome to the family! On this forum you will learn so much. Most of all you will learn that you are not alone. Everyone here is supportive and will provide answers to your questions. Search the site for answers. Read the discussions and blogs for information. There are videos to help you understand diabetes and its treatment. Most of all there is family to talk to and even to vent to, if needed. Welcome home.

Welcome Izzie_Bubbles, Diagnosed at 6 that's the earliest I have heard for a T2. It looks like you have done a great job managing it with a 5.6 A1C. I'm T2 also but diagnosed at a much older age. This is a great place to come and share and learn fom others like ourselves. Nobody understands what its like to be diabetic like another diabetic. Please explore and see all this place has to offer.

Its great that you can start each day with a smile. Thats a lesson we all need to learn. A smile makes life so much easier.

Please feel at home, you are with friends.
