"If worse comes to worse, call Abbott and ask for a free meter that works with the strips that you can get. Not the best solution, but a solution that will get you the correct BG readings needed."

Express Scripts - they do not care there is a recall - do not reorder

For anyone who gets their strips through Express Scripts, do not order test strips through them or you will get recalled strips and no help or care for resolution.I was told by Abbott that they actually do have the new strips. I then ordered from Express Scripts and they sent me recalled strips. I refused to take them (especially since I spent $700 on them) and spent two hours on the phone with ES where they denied even KNOWING about the recall. "Are the white boxes for 50 strips and the yellow one 100 strips? I found an old white box today at the back of my cabinet as I was cleaning it out of the recalled strips, and that was the difference."

"Yes, I have found that the PDM reads best with old strips on code 17. YDMV. Abbott will send you a Freestyle Freedom meter and control solution for free, if you call and ask."

Welcome to the family! On this forum you will learn so much. Most of all you will learn that you are not alone. Everyone here is supportive and will provide answers to your questions. Search the site for answers. Read the discussions and blogs for information. There are videos to help you understand diabetes and its treatment. Most of all there is family to talk to and even to vent to, if needed. Welcome home.

This is a great place to share, to learn, and to grow...all the while meeting new people world wide, and making friends.
Take a peek at some the groups when you get a chance. Just go to the top of your page, and click on "Groups".
Once in, you can either peruse the wide array of available groups....or simply type a specific interest in the space provided.
Take in some of the blogs/discussions as well.
The resource boxes at the top of the home "Home" page, and
"About us" at the very bottom of your page and every page (the footer), offer you more information still.
