Thanks for the Welcome. That was very kind of you. Night Scout is something that works with the CGM and you hook it up to your phone and watch and you can see a persons blood sugar from anywhere. I would be able to see his blood sugar while he was at school.

Dear Jacob's Mom: you said,
"Most humans are inherently self centered, looking for others to empathize with you is like, expecting your husband to tell you that you are beautiful everyday! You alone must feel your beauty and your competence. I not having diabetes don't share your experience but my son has it. I am a very empathic person, I SEE YOU. and so does everyone else here who walks the walk. But at the end of the day you alone are the best you have. All the ability to cope and live well and happy in the world lies within you. Access this and you will shine brighter and find more peace despite the circumstances of your life, of course it helps to be heard and have some true friends alone the way, but we cannot expect more out of anyone than they are capable of giving."

Hi, thank you for trying to help. Yes, this is all pretty new to me. I really guess I needed to vent some. I feel that I am out of my honeymoon period but maybe I'm not. My D started acting differently since I was sick at the end of December which is why I think I'm out of the honeymoon. How is Mass? I drive through it on my way to visit friends but have never really spent much time there. -Bagpipegirl

Teen diabetes revalation

Posted on January 27, 2013 at 2:09pm 5 Comments

So some of you have probably heard me talk of Jacob and his insecurity about his diabetes. He decided to have two friends over today. He just started a new high school this year so new faces and very few know about his diabetes. He was really nervous about having friends up and sharing his news. So I bring down brownies, drinks and Jacobs PDM and tester. He says I got this mom. So like any mom I hang on the stairs to eavesdrop! Jacob very calmly says, guys I am not sure you know but I have…

Shoveling success!!!

I am so happy about Jacob's first job i had to share! He is 14 and his uncle works for the local elderly housing complex and needs help with shoveling, he usually always gets low with shoveling but we wanted him to have a chance to earn a few bucks and not let diabetes fear slow him down. So he woke up at around 150 and I bolused about 3/4's of the insulin i normally would for his egg and cheese on an English muffin with coffee, this was planned for the fat/protein combo. I turned his basal…
