"I'm glad to hear your pump is helping your BG while you are sick! If your BG runs up because you are sick or b/c of rx medicine (e.g. steroids...), you can set your basal rate higher for a longer period of time and it can help. I had a course…"

New to pumping & questions on sick days

Hi! I am new here, new to pumping, and have a sick day question. I started pumping on Aug 5th and once we got the correct insets it has been great. I have the Animas Ping and I'm now using the inset 30's. The regular insets kept coming out. I have been sick for the last couple of days. Usually when I get sick my BG's are in the 300's and sometimes even the 400's. I have noticed this time that My highest BG has been 184 so I know the pump is doing it's job! Thanks for the birthday wishes! It has been a fabulous day! NO CANCER!!! Woo-Who!!! It could still develope but so far I am clear. The doc is putting me on Prometrium. Anyone know what that will do to my BG's?
