thought I would add this in over here as well...many in the DOC were asking on an update...
for those who have been asking...2 weeks, 2 days using victoza (GLP-1 analogue), once daily shot...FDA approved for type 2's but I'm using off label as a type 1...
little bit of nausea to work through, tiredness...head-achy at times...going into the 3rd week will start using the highest dose ...takes 2-4 weeks to push through minor side effects...does make me feel fuller, takes… Continue

Challenging ...Memorial Day weekend....

Memorial day weekend is here already? Where does the time go?
This is the part of the year I start reflecting on many things including how all this affects my diabetes...BBQ's are rolling around which includes a few cold beers here and there =)...many more activities with end of school year approaching, book fair, PTA, graduation celebrations....being a summer taxi cab driver...keeping kids busy...all while still trying to work and keep myself on my priority list...

Finally approved! & what type am I?

My insurance finally approved my insulin pump and I should have a pink animas ping on my doorstep next monday! I was so distraught on picking between green and pink. LOL!
I've been researching as much as I can about the "type" of diabetes I have. I know many say it does not make a difference as long as your blood sugars are controlled but I guess I'm the type of person who has to keep researching until I find an answer or atleast until I come close...I don't feel comfortable coming… Continue

When I first started on tudiabetes I was at a crossroads with my diabetes care. I was stressed out from living with the big D, researching for answers, getting no where with my weight loss journey on top of everyday living things...taking care of kids, being a wife, dealing with my moms struggles, working etc....just how to juggle it all! Hi all! I was raised in upstate NY in a small farming community and transplanted to california when I was 14. I still have relatives in NY and will always consider it home base. Sometimes I wish to live back there again and have my kids grow up the way I did...open country living...but california has its perks and for now that is homebase for us. - Thanks, Jaimie. I've missed a lot of people since I came into rehab this last time. I can't use my computer because they're afraid to let me on WIFI. They think I will mess with their system! (Of all the ridiculous fears. Why would I be interested in their darn files?
