Challenging ...Memorial Day weekend....

Memorial day weekend is here already? Where does the time go?

This is the part of the year I start reflecting on many things including how all this affects my diabetes...BBQ's are rolling around which includes a few cold beers here and there =)...many more activities with end of school year approaching, book fair, PTA, graduation celebrations....being a summer taxi cab driver...keeping kids busy...all while still trying to work and keep myself on my priority list...

I start out gung ho trying… Continue

Finally approved! & what type am I?

My insurance finally approved my insulin pump and I should have a pink animas ping on my doorstep next monday! I was so distraught on picking between green and pink. LOL!

I've been researching as much as I can about the "type" of diabetes I have. I know many say it does not make a difference as long as your blood sugars are controlled but I guess I'm the type of person who has to keep researching until I find an answer or atleast until I come close...I don't feel comfortable coming out and sayi… Continue

Meetup D-Style...renewing my faith & hope

When I first started on tudiabetes I was at a crossroads with my diabetes care. I was stressed out from living with the big D, researching for answers, getting no where with my weight loss journey on top of everyday living things...taking care of kids, being a wife, dealing with my moms struggles, working etc....just how to juggle it all! I had always strived for perfection...my A1c always in the 6's....when I got overwhelmed I turned to the internet for even more answe

My Diabetic Story...

Hi all! I was raised in upstate NY in a small farming community and transplanted to california when I was 14. I still have relatives in NY and will always consider it home base. Sometimes I wish to live back there again and have my kids grow up the way I did...open country living...but california has its perks and for now that is homebase for us. I'm a wife of 12 years, mama to 2 and a stepmom to 1. Alexcina is 10 going on 15 and Nathan is 9. We also

CHAMPIONS NEVER QUIT

CHAMPIONS NEVER QUIT

(You can apply this to sooooooo many things.........I found this a couple years ago and always seem to go back to it when I need a swift kick in the keester!)

At times during the game your body is going to tell you you ve had enough. You will be short of breath, sore, looking at the clock. This is the time when good players stop and quit but Champions pull themselves together and regain their drive. Your mind controls your body.

A TOUGH MIND CONTROLS A TOUGH BODY… Continue

Thanks, Jaimie. I've missed a lot of people since I came into rehab this last time. I can't use my computer because they're afraid to let me on WIFI. They think I will mess with their system! (Of all the ridiculous fears. Why would I be interested in their darn files?

Oh well, just keep hitting on the site for periodic updates.

Agree that it does sound kind of CYA. Of course, taking magnesium orally doesn't guarantee you're assimilating a certain amount either, but a good point about a spray not being a controlled dose.

I'll contact Mike. Swanson's price is less & it may not be the same product.

Thanks!

Wondered what you think about this. Swanson's brand of magnesium oil is from the same source as the site you sent me.

Dear Gerri,

Thank you for contacting us!

Magnesium oil is not intended for internal use and is not intended as a replacement for oral magnesium supplements. Magnesium oil is for topical use for soothing muscles (like Epsom salt bath) or soothing and moisturizing skin.

Magnesium oil typically has 3320 elemental per ounce or approx 500 per teaspoon. Knowing the amount you're spraying tells you nothing about what your skin will absorb. The skin has a unique ability to self-regulate absorption.

We do not have information on amount of magnesium absorbed from topical use of magnesium oil. As an example: Though you may but 8 sprays on an area you may only absorb 4 sprays, there's not a lot of use in telling people what's in a spray since they may not get that absorbed.

People's sprays are not consistent either, one persons spray may be 10 mg, another maybe 30 mg so would not be right to guess what a person may be spraying

This is a supersaturated solution, so you can't get any more concentrated than that.

Our quality, value and customer service have made Swanson Health Products a trusted source of nutritional supplements since 1969. To help us build this privileged relationship with you, we welcome your comments and suggestions.

Best regards,
Tausha K.

Subject: Magnesium Oil Product Question [pfCase:1000021, pfTicket:6000022]

Can Swanson Magnesium Oil also be used for magnesium supplementation, rather than just as a skin treatment? If so, what is the magnesium dose per spray?

Thanks,
Gerri
