Haven't been around for a few months. Been working and going to school pretty much constantly. All of the hustle and bustle makes it really difficult to watch my sugars. Still, was thrown out of my groove when I got some sort of bug a few days ago...

Your not losing your mind! I'm a little mad at my A1c myself. A1Cs only represent the last 3 months or so. Even if you've been good, sometimes it doesn't reflect right away. Also many variables come into play with blood sugar control; basal and bo...

Hey all, haven't check my a1c in a while. Last one was 8.5 and I would love to see it come down. Merietta, I can't believe your doctors try to place blame. There is definitely a stigma about diabetics being lazy, so unfair!

the flu + diabetes???

Haven't been around for a few months. Been working and going to school pretty much constantly. All of the hustle and bustle makes it really difficult to watch my sugars. Still, was thrown out of my groove when I got some sort of bug a few days ago.
Headache, cough and a general feeling of gross. Blood sugars have been steady and high since weds. Raised my basal, drinking water. Sugars almost perfect but feeling worse still! The threat of H1N1 is in the back of my mind. Maybe this is it? Staying… Continue

Overcoming Slowly

I had high blood sugar of 14.8 last night before bed and felt very worried...I sort of fell apart, which I don't let myself do often..My wonderful and supportive boyfriend was with me and told me I would be ok, and that he would take care of me no matter what happened.

Its just become so easy for me to forget that I'm Diabetic, too easy to ignore my health and focus on school and MUCH to easy to put the stress of this disease on the back burner. To be honest, I've never been able to maintain co… Continue

KABLAMO

In my last blog I wrote about my silly, romanticized view about a cure for Type 1 Diabetes being just around the bend.

However --> THIS <-- has just brightened my day =)

We still have a ways to go before these sorts of treatments are approved for regular public usage. Until then I'll take my insulin, test my blood sugar and indulge in a little healthy optimism!

noob o.O!

Just joined today! People here are friendly and I think I will be learning a lot from this place.. Here is whats currently on my mind..

I have had type 1 diabetes for 6 years and have never really gotten used to it. I have coped to the best of my ability but I feel like it governs so much of my life. I hate having high or low blood sugars and I avoid certain activities to stay in control. This can put a damper on things when I'm out with others and I feel like a burden. I love long walks in the… Continue

Thanks for your very sweet comment and your remarks about my photos.

To answer your question, I do prefer the Cozmo to the Minimed Paradigm series pumps, but as they're not producing Cozmos any longer, I'll be looking to see what's out when my warranty expires on my Cozmo in 2012. I don't know which way I'll go, but I am unlikely to go back to Minimed, to be honest. I liked them fine, but not as much as I like everything else that's out there right now. I think the other companies are producing better tech. We'll see where they are in 3 years.

well, thing is that they look for physical abilites, not mental abilities and drive. I mean, in my enlistment process, i made suer to work out to match the requirements, my body weight has always been the same which is already at their requirement,i ahd to meet other requiremenst like the number of crunches or number of pull ups in a minute.
