Doris D said… U know that they will be right after awhile?? When I became a Type 1 back in the 70's it was "count ur calories" Then I think it was in the 80's they came out with "count ur carbs" That was a learning curv for me. I still count the calories then the carbs in my foods. I became a Type 1 at 10 and am now 48. Oh honey just give urselves time and don't try to learn things TOO fast and u guys will be fine. Diabetes care has changed so much since 73 that when my daughter became a Type 1 in 99 I honestly had to learn the care all over again. Her dr told me that I was still working off the past and how it was cared for but I had to step up to the present day. And here I thought I knew it all then. After I found TuD I kept learning and u will too!

Doris D said… May i ask how old ur daughter is??? I'm a Type 1 myself and the mom of a now 23 year old Type 1. We both got it when I was 10 and she was 11.
