Agreed. But I'm on a Mac and very few of these diabetes apps run on my platform. No. It's not a big enough problem that I would be willing to pay for a Windows license to run any of it.

What a comfort it is to find the right doc! I'm so glad that you followed your intuition and that you found such a compassionate doc. Even when news is difficult, it's a lot easier to take when it's delivered by someone who genuinely cares about y...

The relationship between the physician and patient is a special one. I am glad you found someone. A positive relationship often presents itself with improved outcomes. Happy!

Glad you found a physician/practice that treats you well:) It is so important given what we need and the emotional toll of it all. Take care Janet...and I hope the treatments help you to see better.

Thanks -- I have a OneTouch Ultra -- but I can't read the display -- need higher contrast than grey-on-grey. Try HealthWareHouse.com for strips -- they are about 100 for $50 the last I tried them -- now get strips through my pharmacy plan for less.

have been learning slowly -- if you want to guide me in a few of the things that might not be as easy to find -- or things that might be helpful, that would be most welcome. As a slightly older member of the on-line community, I'm not so up on things
thanks

Thanks for your kind words. I have not done this myself. This has been the product of the participation of the thousands of members abiding by a few guiding principles that we ported over to the Diabetes Hands Foundation which came long after the communities started (we also run a community in Spanish, called EsTuDiabetes.com)

New Retinal Specialist -- Big difference in hope

So I went to my retinal specialist two weeks ago. He was appalled at how much loss I have had since my laser procedure. My B/G's are pretty good, and A1C's are better than they have been in many years... but the retinas are getting far worse despite aggressive treatment.

I had decided to get a second opinion. Here's why. I could SEE before I went for my first laser procedure in about April. After each procedure, my sight has deteriorated so much, I'm no longer able to read without extreme measu… Continue

Confused, Frustrated, and Thinking This is Tough

So I'm 55. Aging faster than my husband -- he's running marathons.

At this time, I'm not able to see well enough to read a newspaper through a magnifying glass. Don't have the stamina to ride the bike 5 miles, and only have about four hours of work per week, but can't go looking for more work if I can't see!
