OmniPod skin reaction

I guess its good to know that this happened to other people too. I'm thinking I'll try the patch first. I'm aprehensive about trying a traditional pump with the tubing...it just seems like it would g…

OmniPod skin reaction

Thanks for the info. I've tried a spray on barrier, but that didn't help. Maybe the patch will work.

I've used the Omnipod system since fall 2005 - I've had two occasions when my skin has become "irritated" by the adhesive. The first time I wondered if it might be an allergic reaction but came to conclude that it was my dry skin getting pulled away…

I tried the coloplast wipes and still had a reaction. My newest attempt at a solution is through a holistic doctor. He's given me some supplements that are meant to help your skin protect itself against irritation, and a supplement that is an antihi…

I use the wipes. It works for me even in the hot sun, I live in AZ & have horses so I am always in the extreme heat. So far, no allergic reactions and the Pod remains in place ( even with sweating) I use my outer arm.

Gail - Wondering if you use the wipes, paste or the skin barrier itself?

I have really bad alergies to all adhesives, even bandaids. I, also am on the POD and I use Coloplast Shield Skin ( it is a small pad i just wipe the area before applying the pod) and have not had any reactions! It is pretty cheap but it works great…

I received one of the Solo pods and I tried it on my lower back and actually didn't react at all. I kept it on for 4 days just to see how it reacted and nothing. I took it off and had a little itch, but nothing like the Omnipod. My cozmo pump is sti…

I haven't had any luck either. Now I am trying out the Medtronic pump. I'm having a slight irritation to that adhesive also. So I guess I have to face facts that it is my body that is reacting to the adhesive...its not a problem with the pod. I've t…

Hi, Schmutz, This new pumping system looks really awesome--just like Omnipod with a few improvements! I signed up to get an email as soon as it is available! I'll be watching it closely and asking my doctor about it soon. It doesn't look like they…

Hi, Jean and everyone, So we had zero results with my husband's trial--neither pod bothered him. The only thing that happened was the aired out one didn't stick as well. My skin has more or less healed so I started using them again. I've been on fo…

Hi Tabby, I have bad alergies to all adhesives, even bandaids and am on the omnipod. I use Coloplast made by Mentor. It is a swipe you apply to the skin before putting on the Pod! It is inexpensive and it works wonderfully! Try it and let me know ho…

I developed the same problem after a year. I discovered that I have to change my pod every other day. It is strange, because all of a sudden it stopped, after the end of my second year.

For some reason the MM adhesive is different from others and I don;t seem to get such a reaction with MM. I tried the CGM Navigator and that was horrible. I had a rash all over my stomach. The MM CGM adhesive does not seem to bother me so much, but…

I also need help I'm having the same problem!! My abd is covered with scabs from itching and so sore can not place the pod any were. The adhesive makes me brake out every time I wear a pod. I'm so close to getting rid of this thing.

Had a feeling you might have tried all of that, wish you'd have better luck with them. Did you happen to see the other tubeless pump. Solo is another pump system similar to the pod. I know you can get a demo unit but not sure there are in use yet. M…

I've tried everything! I've had two different batches of pods, so it won't do any good turning them in. I've tried putting tape down first...even taking the adhesive off altogether and holding the pod on with a tegaderm over the top of it. I've pret…

Hi Jean...Sorry to hear all the issues your having. I'm very new to this only on my 6th pod but hope I don't run into this as I'm liking the pod and the results I've gotten so far. Just a suggestion and I'm sure you may have tried or thought of this…
