Jeanne...was just googling Tudiabetes, and saw that you were from STL. Me and Gary Schmidt and Audrey Joseph or starting an organization called STL Dawn Phenom. Our first meeting is the 26th of March. We are type1 diabetics and also athletic. I ran an organization in Chicago when i lived there that was similar. It is just a way to help type1 learn more about what is going on with your sugar during exercise and afterwards. The meetings are free. You can check us out on the JDRF or ADA facebook pages, are also our page STL Dawn Phenom on facebook.
I am inviting everbody from the St Louis area on TuDiabetes. I had two good responses so far. I have learned alot from this group in Chicago and that is why i want to start the STL area. This is for anybody who is diabetic and that is already exercising or just starting. any questions about this let me know, ciao for now

I ended up down w/ a cold...so, did not make it to the walk. I am doing much better today...and post a major exam:) Thought of you and sent my good wishes your way. Hope you are doing well. Really hope we can all avoid the flu. I got my seasonal shot and waiting to see what is available for H1N1. Maybe we can get together sometime before the holidays...in Nov in fact for WDD? I think a meetup for the event would be great. I am hoping to attend some Halloween festivities...thought the JDRF but, our whole clan has been invited to a fundraiser for another family friend who died of ovarian cancer last year. Well...take care my friend:) Thinking of you and look forward to see you again soon.

Hey, Jeanne:) How are you? Loved Chicago...busy w/ school:) How are you?? I am not walking this year...but, may stop in to see the exhibits. I am interested in the OmniPod and I think they have a booth this year. I started on the MM sensor and love the info I am getting. I think I will try out the Dex7+ sometime soon and hope that OmniPod is really going to integrate CGMS (Dex) early next year.

Any word on the Blue Arch? I am hoping that Carnahan is moving forward on it:) Let me know if there is anything that can be done. I think we should resume Tu Meetups locally and then I am sure we will come up w/ some interesting things for us all to do in Nov. I still want to make the tattoos and distribute them:) Maybe a mini-walk and donations go to Tu?? I was unable to donate in the fundraiser because of lack of income...but, I could do a fundraiser!

Well...must run, take care and look forward to seeing you soon. Like I said, will look for you at the walk:)

Hey Jeanne:) What great news! I was getting ready to call him again given the lack of reply on the first message left. I was a little concerned that the person taking the message seemed disoriented:) If I didn't know better...I would say she was having a low blood sugar! Life has been crazy w/ the start of a new school semester...but, I would love to get together:) Maybe we can start some sort of meetup for local folks? Coffee and chatting always draws me!

So tell me...what do I need to help w/ on the Blue Arch Project?? Do they have any idea when they will know if it is a go?? Almost need to know for sure for additional planning to take place. I would say meeting w/ ADA and JADA to encourage local activities that weekend...blood sugar fairs, talks, etc. I am still very excited about making some temporary tattoos...so, I will get the details and work on that:) Let me know what else I can be doing to help.

Take care and have a great weekend...I am headed out to take my brother for oral surgery...playing "nurse":)

Hey Jeanne:) Hello and happy Labor Day weekend! I have not heard back from Carnahan's office/Jim McCue. I am going to call them Tues and see what is up! If that does not work...I am going into his brother's coffee house in town:) he often hangs out there. Well, must run. Just wanted to say hi and say that I was thinking of you:) Take care.
