Choosing between the three pumps in Canada

Started this discussion. Last reply by Mayumi Jan 24, 2011. 7 Replies

I have seen the three pumps available to me in Canada, the Medtronic Veo, The Animas Ping, and the Accucheck. I have listened to the sales associates explain to me each pump and their benifits. I…Continue

When I was diagnosed last year I felt a mixture of all the negative emotions one could think of (anger, self-pity, hopelessness and guilt). I felt alone amongst other people and wondered if there…Continue

Prednisone and type 1 diabetes

I have had type 1 for a year and just found out I have another auto immune disease called auto immune hepatitis. I have been temporarely put on prednisone but I have hesitant to start it since I am scared S***less of the side effects and the fact that your bg's sky rocket. I was just wondering if anyone has taken prednisone and has diabetes and is willing to share anything. I am curious more of the side effects and how you dealt with it while being able to live a "normal" and productive life.…See More

Where to put sites for Pump

Posted on February 11, 2011 at 2:44pm 3 Comments

I know this may sound like a ridiculous complaint. However, I hardly have any fat and I was wondering where site would work with little body fat and less pain. I am not on the pump yet. Looking forward to it in the near future, however I was wondering about this when I do get one.

I'm in San Francisco now.  I left Massachusetts when I was 13.  But they asked for your hometown, so there you go.  I have very unpleasant memories of waiting for the school bus in despicably cold weather and having to keep everything covered so it didn't freeze.  Currently we are cloudy with a 70% chance of rain with a balmy winter temp of 57 degrees F.  I'm not good with the celsius conversion so if you don't mind, I'm going to rather ostentatiously gloss over it.  So, Toronto, eh?
