A little about me...

I am a T1, diagnosed right after New Year's in 1991... my mom figured it out, something about the movie The Godfather. I still remember finding out the test results & crying cause I thought it meant I could never eat ice cream again! Which I found out wasn't the case, just had to watch myself.
After much resistance I finally started on the pump in 2005 - it's been a roller coaster, however, my levels have improved from when I was on shots. I play soccer & have been since I was 5; my initial concern of not getting on the pump was I would slide across the field & my site would rip out, causing me to bleed to death on the field... Well, I still play soccer & I haven't done any damage to a site yet (knock on wood), despite spending half the game on the ground.
I currently interested in traveling anywhere & everywhere and am lucky to have found someone to share my adventures with... Hopefully, someday in the near future, we'll be ready to settle down & start a family.

Hi Jen,

I was just checking for other Tennessee Type 1 diabetics and saw you're nearby. I live in South Nashville/Brentwood. Are you going to the Tennessee gathering? I'm not sure if I will, it's a bit of a drive, - I think I'll wait and see how many RSVP.

I enjoyed your photo show, it was like taking a 30-second beach vacation!

Jen, I've sent out a message on TN Diabetics, but I am trying to hit people up individually too. I am trying to get feedback to see if people would be interested in a picnic/gathering/get together sometime between now and early fall. It would be in the mid-state area. If you think you might be interested, let me know.
