"That is wonderful, wonderful news! We are still waiting for the policy card to come in, but I have a demo pod on right now and it is so exciting to think that we might actually be able to afford it. Do you use a CGM too?"

"Hi Birdy. Sorry I,m just getting back to you now from your comment about PCIP and the pod, but I don't really use this site much and am still getting my bearings with it. PCIP is actually pretty awesome insurance in terms of how they cover the…"

Omnipod covered as presciption under insurance plans...

I currently have PCIP health insurance which covers the Omnipod under the prescription plan, which is really nice! Unfortunately, the plan is set to end Dec 31, 2014 and I will be needing to look for a new plan. I was wondering if anyone knows of any other plans which also cover the pods under the prescription plan, not as durable medical equipment. Its usually a super high deductible when covered under durable medical, so I'm hoping to find a better way to offset the monthly cost of the pods.See More

Anyone on Omnipod have PCIP insurance? Wondering if its considered in network?

I just finally got health insurance after being without for several years. I was on the pod for several years, but had to go off because I just couldn't afford it anymore after my husband lost his job. Insulet offered no incentives to work with people financially, so I had to get off of it and go back to injections. This was about a year ago and since then my health has suffered. I do not respond well to Lantus and saw my A1C's go from 5.2 up to 8.0. Long story short, I was finally able to get…See More

Looks like insurance approval is going through! Do you deal with Edgepark? They quoted really high on the 10pk of Pods - $600+. I checked with PCIP, and it sounds like they will cover the pods as a prescription, which is a much lower deductible and co-pay. I have a conference call tomorrow with the Insulet rep and Medco to re-verify this. What has your experience been?
