It's really not that bad

l.. So, I know I was all super dramatic in my last post freaking out about being alone and managing my diabetes but it's really not been that bad. There's really only been like 2 times so far when I started to eat before realizing I hadn't tested and shot yet. And for the most part my blood sugars have been pretty good and below the 200 range. This may be helped by the fact that I've been pretty busy. Like I mentioned in the last post I have a bit of a book obsession/addiction. And with my new…See More

It's finally over and I can breathe

So the holidays are done! It's a little depressing considering how much goes into them and how quickly they go by especially as you get older. But I've made it through the holidays and am currently relaxing on the couch and watching Zero Dark Thirty. I went to my grandparents house Christmas night so that I could spend some time with them. On Thursday my grandfather and I went shopping while my grandmother went to dialysis. I went to big lots and got my boyfriend's family their presents and…See More

Test All The Times!! Eat All The Foods!! ... Or not...

So, Today is my first day of testing every time I eat and I was super stoked and ready to be awesome!! but then I didn't really eat anything besides my meals. I'm strangely disappointed. But Whatevs. I spent my day at my grandparent's house doing odd jobs for them. I painted the trim on a door, polished every cabinet in their house, and shined the floor. It's always loads of fun to hang out with my grandparents because my grandfather is going blind (he already has one prosthetic eye) so he just…See More

Baby Steps

So, I've been a diabetic for almost 8 years now and, I can't even deny it, a really crappy one. I don't test as often as I should, don't shoot very often. A few years ago I ended up in the hospital twice in 6 weeks with DKA. Now, you'd think that this would have made me change and become an amazing diabetic, well it didn't. I've been walking the fine line between just high blood sugar and DKA for the past few years and have been paying the price. I've been dealing with the obvious constant…See More

Welcome to the family!! On this forum you will learn so much. Most of what you will learn is that you are not alone. Everyone here is supportive and will provide answers to your questions. Search the site for answers. Read the discussions and blogs for information. There are videos to help you understand diabetes and its treatment. Most of all there is family to talk to and vent to, if needed.
