Hi Jerry! I agree.....D makes things more complicated. But I'm in it to run nevertheless. And I couldn't be any more excited. D is really the challenging part. Longer than 6miles is new to me, but I am athletic so I can take that part. The blood sugars, insulin, food, electrolytes, etc.....that's the complicated part! Everyone is different, I know. I just like hearing what the long-term D folks have had success with. D athletes are WAY better resources than even my doc and CDE. It's all about living with and really understanding it. Thank you for your comments! I really appreciate it! :)

Hey Jerry! Welcome to the TuDiabetes family. I used to live in Scottsdale between 2000-2003 and my parents lived in Chandler. Lots of good memories from the time in AZ, including my first (and up to now, only) half marathon (The Valley of the Sun).

Hope you find the community valuable. Please help us spread the word:
-Invite family, friends and others who can benefit from being a member.
-Consider adding a Tu Diabetes badge for your blog

Hi Jerry

Great, another software engineer! :-)

Welcome. And thanks for you blog pointer, I'm also looking for new ones to add to the diabetes search tool I've created.

I'm (sort of) thinking about a marathon later in the year. For now I'm working up to a sprint triathlon in August.

Hi Jerry! I don't know what could be the problem... Here are instructions for uploading the photo:

Photo instructions

If it still doesn't work, then contact me or TuDiabetes Administrator (another member of TuDiabetes, which you can search for under members!). It's a great community... so I hope all will work for you to participate!

Make sure you sign in each time... otherwise you don't have full access to the site. Some parts are visible to the public, but not everything.

Glad that you are here!

Welcome to Diabetes Jerry! I'm glad that you found this community!

There are some some great groups for athletes with diabetes. Check out the groups link above-- there's one for people training for marathons as well!

When you get a chance, add a photo of yourself of something related to you.
