"That's a fantastic 5K time on cross-training! I'm sure you didn't lose all of your half marathon training in that time, but still...

"I agree Acid Rock about the training groups. A good one can make all the difference. You should definitely get on a training plan that gradually gets you up to distances around 20 miles, even if you don't get into a group. See Hal Higdon's…"

Can't wait to see you and run together this weekend in San Diego! I get in on Thursday Afternoon and go home late on Monday. I hope all is well with you and look forward to hanging out with you on TUDiabetes.
hey Jerry, I just started following you on Twitter. I see we are sympatico on many areas. I was also thinking about how much I've enjoyed your poems here, and seeing you're a Beatles fan, I thought I'd share one of our more popular discussions from way back
Was just reading over some previous conversation on Diabetics who run Marathons - I think Inspirational Badass would be a good term - I know you've helped me along the way, which I greatly appreciate. Hope to see you at IMAZ (still not sure of my plans - hopefully today).
Thanks for the insight and info, Jerry! Yes, I've not been blogging much here or on my blog, but have been training and participating in a mentor group on beginner triathlete. Noticed that triabetes didn't have much presence here in TX, so thought there might be a chance to help get something going. Have done 4 sprints now, dropped 20 lbs, and am on track for OLY's on 9/5 and 10/2....still a triathon novice, but loving it. I thought that triabetes might be a good way to pay it forward. Are you doing the Carlsbad marathon in Feb? Guy I talked to at insulindependence suggested that. I'll check into team wild as well.
