Thanks for the blog comment! I've run the OKC 1/2 marathon several times, and I've done the full as a relay. It's funny now that I think about it that I've never actually done the whole thing...Guess I'll have to put that on my 'things to do' list for next year :-)

Thanks! Yes, the pod was inserted. It hurt a teeny tiny bit more when the needle popped in, but that was it. Not much more than anywhere else. I'm only on my third pod though. So far I've used my arm, calf (which is now my favorite spot) and now it's on my tummy. I'm not sure where I'm going to put it next... either try my back, or the other calf... Not sure about my back though, I like to sleep on my back sometimes...

Finals week craziness

Posted on December 15, 2008 at 6:20pm 4 Comments

I know I don't blog much, but I had to get this out. So I start on the Omnipod on Friday... YAY.. but it's finals week and I have three days of testing left before I fly home on thurs afternoon. I went to change my current pump's infusion set/resevoir this morning and it starts shooting insulin everywhere and alerting. After searching on here for what A33 means I found out that there is nothing I can do and the pump is done for. I would call and get a replacement but I'm switching pump… Continue

So I have a bad infusion site tonight. I went to a movie and wasn't feeling great so I checked before hand, and lo and behold 400! Geez haven't had a high blood sugar like this in a long while and I feel like crud. So I corrected hoping it was something I ate, but after the movie still not feeling well so I re-check. AND 485 no decrease at all! I'm bout to take a shot and change my site, but I'm so frustrated right now. Every now and then these sites just go bad, and there seems to be nothing… Continue

So I've never kept a blog before, but I guess I can try. So I have seen a diabetic educator this summer to get my pump settings more finely tuned. And so far it has worked greatly. My bs has improved very well. It wasn't horrible before, but I feel I'm getting a lower A1c this next appt. But one thing that has happened is that I'm going low more. Today was kinda an up and down day. I've been sick with sinuses or some cold and my sugar was high a couple of hours before lunch so I corrected. Then… Continue
