Jim replied to Sandy's discussion 'Medtronic just failing :('
"I'm having similar issue with my Paradigm that just went out of warranty. I change the battery and the pumps resets. After putting in the new battery it counts down (6-5-4-3-2-1) and then makes me reset the time, date and alarm settings. Weird…"

Jim replied to Spock's discussion 'New Medtronic 530 pump'
"Surprising. On the Sales side of the house they are pretty good. They called me in December about upgrading since I am eligible. I'm not wasting the money since my current pump is still working. Have they submitted to insurance? Good luck."

Jim replied to katie's discussion 'When the Dexcom begins to fail.'
"The transmitter is not rechargeable. It seems that with the extended range of the G4 transmitter the life of the battery took a hit over the previous Seven. My G4 battery made it 1year then died. With the seven I was going on 2 years with no issues."

Jim replied to Annie's discussion 'New to tubed pumping....ideas for securing the pump?'
"I know men's clothing is different, but I have always placed the pump in my pocket. I cut a small opening in the upper part of the pocket to slide the tubing through. Out of sight, easy access and no issues with tubing getting caught on things."

Jim replied to Jennifer's discussion 'We surrender!'
"It just make me wonder if the pump wasn't working. There should be no reason that his BS should be hovering at 300 unless insulin was not being delivered. Granted there is an adjustment period but you already know a lot of the inputs to start…"

Hi Jim. Both companies are working in join both tecnologies(The saleman told me that and I read it too) . If they do and they improve it, it will be fine for me because I won't have to carry 2 machines. I love my pump. My Dex is not accuracy. I am agree with someone who wrote that Dex mess when is too high or Low. That's happening to me. Yesterday My Dex said I was in 340 after I checked many times before and Pump insuline and I said, that can't be true. I was right! I checked my glucose metter and it says 229, so that is a big diference.

Hi Jim,

I'm really sorry that the original title I chose in my report about the Desai lab offended you! I'm always happy to see diversity of all kinds among the folks working in the field of diabetes, but I see that several community members found the mention inappropriate.

I've changed the title, and I apologize for the offense.

Sincerely,
Emily
