That plate of food makes me really hungry, although I can't figure out what that stuff at the 4 o'clock and 5 o'clock position is. And the stuff at 6 o'clock makes me curious, too. Whatever it is, I would eat it. It looks good.

There are some really cool articles/pictures from old newspapers that google has in its news search. Since there was no real treatment for Diabetes, there were a lot of hucksters trying to sell kidney pills and whatnot. They had tons of print ads....

Yeah...it is weird. I think it truly looked like a freak accident and an idiotic driver; maybe he couldn't categorize that into a moving violation.

i've always wanted to live in canada. Not sure how my wife would respond when I told her, "Sweety, I'm going to move to manitoba for a few months to work on a video with another diabetic, a richard simmons lookalike, and Conrad Murray.

Billy....as long as I get to hit you, I'm in! That is an excellent idea....Richard Simmons could be freaking out, and his assistant could run in the room and slap him and say, "Get control of yourself," and then the assistant would look for sugar ...

I speak Diabetic. And Jive.

I've discovered that when I get into conversations with other diabetics, we quickly descend into speech filled with indecipherable acronyms and jargon. I was on an airplane the other day, and there were two men on the plane, both of whom were diabetic and spoke Jive, which made their conversation even harderContinue

Secret Hot Dog Eating

I have to hand it to Mark Sanchez, QB for the New York Jets.

That man knows how to hide his hot dog. Look at this video:

As a diabetic, I have learned to be a Ninja when it comes to eating food at inappropriate times and places. I have furtively consumed food in the middle of staff meetings, funerals, Bar Mitzvahs, Baptisms, weddings, Shakespeare plays, job interviews, and… Continue

Driving Under the Influence of Diabetes

About 3 years ago, I backed our Toyota Prius into our neighbors' Volkswagen Jetta. When I felt the thud and screech of the collision, I pulled forward and ended up yanking the back bumper off of my car. I was sure that I had a $4,000 repair on my hands, but fortunately, Priuses are a joint venture of Toyota and Lego, so I was able to click the bumper back into place, and all that was left were some scratches on my car and a big black gouge on my neighbor's car. I never told Theresa what I did, s… Continue

thanks, Jim, for all your blogs and pictures. I have dedicating my latest infusion set to you. I put "MrJim" in yesterday, and my numbers have been great all day, in spite of being dragged around to three car dealers today. My husband says it's time to get rid of my leaking rusty Subaru.

Darn, just left a comment on your blog - came to see where you live - so I could invite myself over for dinner - and it would take me a few days to get to your neck of the woods on my 650 - plus by then - my buttocks/hands might have become dust (issues with tires at the moment - on/road nobby tires - not good for long distance). So, you will not have to fear that I will show up on your doorstep - with fork and knife in hand. I would have brought wine tho' if that makes you think I was being overbeing in my invite to your place.

Great. Let me know about your progress starting a group. I see you put Educator under your profession. I currently teach psychology online for Shasta College up in Redding. I just returned to Berkeley from Guatemala a week ago so I haven't started the process of a support group yet. That's great you got a positive response from an outreach worker; shows there is a need!
