I was "possible" MS for a long time as well. When I was finally dianosed, I had lost vision in one eye. Its still gone. Afterwards they told me I probably had MS for years before then. The Dr. told me that I had to have two documented flare-ups to b…

One major obstacle in having both is that with diabetes you want to exercise, and MS really drains my energy. Some of the fatigue can be caused by MS meds, but it is also a symptom for a lot of us. I should say that we all would benefit from exercis…

Double Whammy

I was diagnosed with diabetes and multiple sclerosis on the same day, 8 years ago. They discovered both while checking my spinal fluid. They were looking for the ms, but the diabetes took me by surprise. I concentrated on the ms since it was stealing my eyesight and my energy. I was a supermom! This wasn't happening to me! At first I followed my diet pretty well and I lost some weight. That made me feel great. I was doing all I could by taking all of my meds and eating better.
Then, depression s… Continue

The person I saw with MS (but not diabetes) was already using a power wheelchair (but still working) when I first met him. He had a van he could drive the power wheelchair into, so that he could drive to work.

Joan I started a new group Diabetics with MS, did you join?

Still no word YET when my MS clinic apt will be etc. My pcp's office says they are seeking insurance aproval for it. I thought the MSU clinic was IN network and no approval needed, unless he flip floped and wants to try and get me into U of M MS clinic instead. I just wish this would hurry up and get it over with at this pont. My diplopia is etting worse, prisms not updated in over 20 years and I have been trying to get that done since about july!

I would like to learn more about MS but more important is how either affects the other (diabetes & MS).

(*&*( GOMER

One thing I am worried about with all the delay is my mobility. My hoof doc says he will not do anything more with the new foot problem untill this possable MS question is resolved, what has to happen, I loose my ability to walk even with my AFOs and cane first?

I don't know whether my previous attempts to post this worked or not.

I'm on Avandia, after problems with both metformin and Actos. I'm also on several other medicines for my other symptoms - around 7 of them. I'm thinking of asking my doctor whether he approves stopping a few that I suspect no longer work for me, if they ever did.

I see thatTuDiabetes has now added a button for attaching files to messages like these, so I'll try that as soon as I finish making a copy and removing any sites he wouldn't want me to send someone else.

It's late enough at night here that I'll try to send it tomorrow. I'm not sure Tu
Diabetes can handle uploading files well; does your MS support group have a web site where it's likely to be easier to upload it?

I've been keeping a list of web sites related to multiple sclerosis for a former neighbor with multiple sclerosis, in case he ever gets around to sending me his new email address.

Would you like a copy of this list?
