Diabetes doubles your risk of Alzheimers !!!

Posted on September 21, 2011 at 1:55pm 5 Comments

Just read this article in a CNN link. Another good reason to keep your sugar in control.

(Health.com) -- People with diabetes are at increased risk of having a heart attack or stroke at an early age, but that's not the only worry. Diabetes appears to dramatically increase a person's risk of developing Alzheimer's disease or other types of dementia later in life, according to a new study conducted in Japan.

In the study, which included more than 1,000 men and women over age 60,… Continue

Confusing new Labs

Posted on March 10, 2010 at 10:33pm 1 Comment

Well the results came back and I am confused. My sugars have been eratic due to cortisone shots and going off my meds for a colonoscopy. My FBS was 143 and that was actually one of the better ones lately. Yet My A1C went from 5.9 ---> 6.0 . I expected to see a jump to maybe 6.5 or higher. How can my sugars be running higher all the time and my A1C barely budge ????

My TC was 170 but my LDL was 101 & HDL was 50, so I'm sure next week…

Need some computer guidance

Posted on August 27, 2009 at 8:42pm 3 Comments

It's been a frustrating night. I have computer issues and can't figure them out. My picture slideshow and my music player all of a sudden decided to disappear leaving a white box with a tiny logo in the top corner. Others I have talked to can still see my pics and the music player but i can no longer. I don't know what the problem is.

Tried reinstalling the music player and that didn't help. Then I deleted thins I didn't mean to and am struggling to get it back. I'm afraid to mess with the… Continue

Kaylee dressed to watch Penn State in the Rose Bowl Game

Kaylee, our 5 yr. old Siamese cat passed on to Cat heaven after a horribly torturous week. She fell ill last Wednesday night and had exploratory surgery on Saturday. They removed some tumors from her pancreas.

( I am beginning to hate the pancreas ) They inserted a peg tube for feeding purposes. She was so week but we brought her home Tuesday… Continue

Hello Joanne. Thanks for your nice email filling me in. We are having a mini-hurricane, All night all day rain and winds 50 miles an hour. Streets are flooded. Tom is at Government House and he it is a mess in town. Waves are breaking over the seawall and flooded the Bayfront.

Russ still having trouble with his left leg. He does the compression machine at home. 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes at night. He walks slowly and now uses a cane but no more moaning and groaning.

I went to my PCP and he said I am very health. My knees killing me but I think it is the day.

A new twist the storm brought in adult frogs and their singing is a racket...driving me crazy.

You sure have been one busy lady. I hope you get something you like.

Sorry to hear about Joe. It must be very hard on him.

This country is going in the wrong direction. They want to cut out the Cost of Living for Seniors. I got $3 and I mailed it to Senator Schumer.

Tom has the Reading Sunday and he also other weeks serves Communion.
Chico is hre he is with us all day. Lovely cat. He is going back North the 10th..we will miss him.

Take good care of yourself and my very best to Joe.

HUGS,
Reed
