I simply skip my Symlin if I'm going to exercise. My exercise is almost always aerobic. And I try to start with BG at 140 or so. I have to reduce my basal, and skip my bolus anyway. Symlin would, I suspect, end up in a big crash. Even light exerc...

I forget how hard...

I forget how hard it can be when you are first dx'ed with T1. I think I've got my act together now, after 4 years. I'm also convinced my life is pretty different than most T1's. I was 46 when dx'ed. The math says I will live over half my life without diabetes. I will never have to go through teen angst, courting a potential spouse, college life, job hunting, etc. I think, for the most part, I have it easy.

Why I Like Diabetes Stories.

I'd like to pose some questions, and trigger some introspection. I'll tell you why I like diabetes stories, then you tell me why you like them.

When first diagnosed 4 years ago, I read a kajillion posts on a half dozen bulletin boards to help me figure out my new life. I looked for the little snippets that helped. Like how to manage my pump, or handle eating at a restaurant. I read the boards intensely for a couple years, and posted replies when I thought I had something meaningful to offer.
